Alaska was originally a territory of Russia before 1867. It became a U.S. territory and in the 1940's, it officially became a state. Alaska doesn't have a lot in common with the lower 48 such as climate, people, government, and resources. It would be geographically logical for the state of Alaska to become a part of the vast and peaceful country of Canada. Negotiate with the Canadian government if this petition gets the required amount of signatures.
