Recognizing that
- the future of our country starts in the early years of education of all our nation’s kids
- currently our nation’s leaders are engaged in financial discussions that will have long-term effects on our ability to fund public schools
- federal support for K-12 education in our national budget continues to decline
- we need to support our public education system in a way that will generate real change
We the undersigned petition to:
- immediately convene a National K-12 Public Education Commission
- modeled on the health care panel that was convened for the Affordable Health Care Act
- engaging all stake-holders including advocates for our children
- focus on a meaningful sustained financial stimulus for public education
