Orsillo became the full-time Red Sox voice in 2005 when NESN took over airing all Red Sox local telecasts.
NESN did not renew his contract for 2016 and blames Orsillo in part for low ratings. The low ratings are due to the performance on the field of the Red Sox. Don Orsillo and his long time partner Jerry Remy are the reason most views turn into NESN. there is currently a petition being sent to the owners of both NESN and the Red Sox owners with almost 25000 signatures
