The National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) is providing excellent guidelines to those working tirelessly for people living with HIV/AIDS; but today our nation has become complacent with how to manage the epidemic domestically. The lack of required standards for treatment of those diagnosed leaves room for missed opportunities, disorganization, and misuse of funding. In conjunction with recipients of the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act of 1990, the government can spend money efficiently and most importantly effectively to not only reduce the amount of new diagnoses as well as provide quality care to those who need it. Petition to make the National HIV/AIDS Strategy federal legislation to put complacency to rest once and for all resulting in an AIDS-free generation.
