U.S. based companies are using credit background checks as a requirement for employment and hiring. With the economy slowly recovering and millions of Americans still facing unemployment, using credit history as a basis for employment creates a hardship for many, especially Minorities. and as many Americans have had to exhaust all income to pay basic living expenses and forgo timely payments on loans, credit cards, mortgages, etc.
This process by companies impact and increases the risk of employment and a detriment to the overall future of the U.S. economy. It has been proven that there are many reasons for poor credit, including loss of job, lack of medical coverage, divorce, etc. and is not always an indication of a poor Employee.
