All SSI and VA recipients should be drug tested every 3-6 months. If a test comes back confirmed that the person used illicit drugs, then a payee should be automatically assigned to that person. If it is still positive at the next testing, they could lose their benefits. Right now, a LOT of people misuse their VA and SSI checks for drugs. This would allow money to go to those who are using it properly and ultimately save the government money by stopping benefits that are being misused.
