Petition to Modify / Lift Relocation Restrictions of Divorced / Blended Families Seeking to Relocate With Minor Children

Created by B.M. on January 22, 2013

In many states, Family Courts have relocation statutes which make it very difficult for families after divorce litigation to move to where either party has a larger support network of family or search of work in hopes of better opportunity for familial prosperity. In many instances, primary caregivers are the mothers. If the primary caregiver has been the consistent primary caregiver of the children, this petition is asking for voters to approve allowing the relocating family to be granted permission to relocate together and bring the children on the relocation. The relocating party would properly notify the opposing party and disclose to the court the residence of where the minor children will reside, and promise to facilitate contact between the parties children and the other parent.
