Petition OPEC for the USA to become a Full Member

The U.S.A is quickly becoming energy reliant and this requires a strong energy export policy in the beginning stages of the oil glut currently afflicting the world economy. The present scenario combined with the recent thaw in relations with Iran also require our presence in order to bridge the proxies who would wrest control for dominance in a region largely controlled and bankrolled by commodities in oil/natural gas. The United States, positioned as a full member of OPEC, would align our energy policy with the biggest oil producing nations in the world rather than fighting them and subjecting us to their whims. OPEC's current energy policy is unambiguously targeted at shale oil producers, whose costs are much higher. The U.S.A is an energy leader and it is in our interest to act as such
