Growing up is a difficult time for people of all backgrounds. Teenagers learn new things about themselves every single day. Many children end up questioning or fully realizing their own gender and sexuality. It's a terrifying thing for some kids to realize they may be gay or transgender, especially when familial knowledge is brought into the picture. Plenty of parents are able to accept their child for who they are. Some parents on the other hand simply cannot some to terms with the fact that their child isn't what they expected them to be and turn to a form of conversion therapy. In conversion therapy this homosexuality or transgenderism is basically trained out of the patient. Cnversion therapy is outdated and barbaric and has no place in our society.
