Petition to raise women's wages

Created by J.S. on February 24, 2014

It is sad that we are in the year 2014 and women are not receiving equal wages compared to that of men. Currently, women earn 81 cents for every dollar than men earn for similar work, and the gap is even greater for African-American women and Latinas. Single mothers with low-wage jobs find it hard or even impossible to support themselves as well as their children with their lower wages, not to mention the indirect psychological belittling that they endure because of this inequality. This petition demands that the Obama administration enact whatever means necessary to grant women the long-delayed right to an equal wage. We are far behind other countries where both genders receive the same salaries, and we must own up to our promises and make everyone equal in this country.
