A politician is a PUBLIC SERVANT, there job is to do what is best for the people of the United States of America. So, if a majority of the people in this country can live off of less than 100,000 (two incomes) why can't they? Congressman, Senators, and others at similar levels are making 150,000/year or more. Many are also worth millions already (which does get you curious how did so many become worth millions). As middle class Americans we have to demand changes to this.
Every day companies close plants, lay-off employees, freeze pay, increase benefits, and so on while our taxes go up. It does not make sense, we pay the wages therefore we should have a say in what they make because we can no longer support it. It is supposed to be a selfless job.
