Petition for Release of Information Collected by the NSA to Persons Compromised in Error.

Created by L.H. on August 19, 2013

The NSA collects electronic data for security purposes, complying with a 2008 law. The law limits the collection of data on American Citizens. Recently, it has been reported that errors have occurred and in a few cases this limit has been compromised.
This petition is to require the NSA to provide persons whose electronic communications have been compromised information on the incident. It would then be a decision of the person compromised to provide/or not, the information to the press.
This requirement is consistent with other actions taken in the name of security. When the TSA searches a bag for securities purposes, it leaves a note.
The result of this petition is to restore confidence that the NSA is acting within the law and to provide transparency in the case of errors. .
