Andrew Jackson was the President of the United States for 8 years. However, he does not deserve to be on the $20 bill.
Andrew Jackson committed many atrocious crimes against Native Americans, some of many of our not so great history in dealing with Native Americans. Worst of all, he had a far too aggressive enforcement of the Indian Removal Act of 1830, which created the Trail of Tears. He removed thousands of Native Americans from their homes for being Native American, and for that, he should not be on the $20 bill.
There are plenty of good people to replace him. People like FDR, or JFK, or MLK Jr., just to name a few. However, because of Andrew Jackson’s atrocities towards Native Americans, we should support the removal of Andrew Jackson from the $20 bill.
