Petition to rename National Airport in Washington DC

Created by J.L. on May 24, 2013

The National Airport (DCA) in Washington DC is a landmark of our nation's capital. Unfortunately it is currently named after president Ronald Reagan, a GOP icon but a rather polarizing figure. The politics and world view associated with his name can hardly represent the best of America, and naming the National Airport after him serve to divide rather than unite the nation. We thus propose to rename the airport after our first president and founding father of the nation, George Washington, the only suitable name for the an airport that proudly serves the nation's capital.
