A petition to replace the current national anthem with Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd

At the time of its conception the current national anthem provided a much needed sense of unity and pride to a nation taking its first steps. Now however, the star spangled banner seems to lack the sort of relevance that Americans have come to expect. We have come a long way as a nation since 1814 when the original anthem was written, and it's time for an upgrade. Modern Americans need an anthem which assaults the senses and can be blasted at full volume out of an outdated ford pickup truck while doing burnouts on the football field of a rural highschool. Which is precisely why it is imperative that Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd be adopted as the new national anthem, to finally give this great nation an anthem they can proudly shotgun a beer to.
