This would cause more citizens to vote and care about politics, it would help with unifying our country, and it would show the people that they do have to power and control over our government when our government ignores our values. The electoral college influences people that their vote "doesn't matter" when although it does it could be used more significantly if the electoral college did not exsist. A few hundred people should not have the absolute power over 300 million citizens when it comes to the citizens' votes. This does effect every citizen after all. We need to change how our elections are ran, popular vote should be taken more seriously while a few hundred people should not determine our future when hundreds of thousands vote also yet their voice is practically unheard.
