This petition is specifically aimed at getting the State department to make a human rights statement on Saudi Arabia

Created by R.C. on September 27, 2015

This is a request for President and the State Department to hold two separate conferences on Saudi Arabia's human rights violations.

The goal of this is simply to open a dialogue between the two countries. Something no American president in history has seemed willing to do. Human Rights abuses will continue in countries if we allow them to be ignored. Saudi Arabia is a key ally, as such our administrations seem to be unwilling to confront them on their abuses.

Here is what I would like the conference from the State department to address: extreme punishments (namely how brutal they are ranging from stoning to beheadings to lashes), women's rights, and freedom of press. I want the president to present a plan for aiding Saudi Arabia in changing its policies regarding these issues.
