Petition Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou to grant medical parole to jailed Chen Shui-bian as befits a civilized nation

Created by R.C. on March 09, 2013

Dear Mr. President Obama
As a retired professor of neurology of the National Taiwan University and past president of Taiwan Neurological Society, I was invited with two colleagues to see our past president Mr. Chen Shui-Bian on Feb. 17, 2013 in the Psychiatric Ward of the Veteran’s General Hospital. Part of our neurological examination on him was shown in the following website media report: http://www.twimi.net/detail.php?mid=1689#.USdbNHS2rn8.facebook .
We concluded that he is sick with multiple system atrophy or frontotemporal dementia. As a physician, I believe that he should be allowed to go home to stay with his family hoping to slow down his deterioration. For humanitarian reason, I sincerely wish that you listen to our Petition.
