We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Petition for The United States Government to convene a Gun Crisis Summit to create bi-partisan Common Sense Gun Laws.

Created by E.R. on June 12, 2016

Another day in the United States, another mass shooting. Another hashtag trending about gun control and gun rights, and another day the president makes a speech about another tragedy.

Another day words do nothing to create a solution to the crisis of mass shootings in the United States.

This is a petition for the US government to hold a Gun Crisis Summit to bring together both sides of the issue killing our country; to hold a week of common sense discussion by both gun manufacturers, law makers, activists, and law enforcement.

It's my belief that both sides of the political spectrum have been yelling at each other for far too long, and pushing ideas that accomplish nothing except vilifying each other. We need a conversation with realistic goals in controlling gun violence in America.
