Due to a requirement of a minimum of an associate degree for employment as an AFJROTC instructor, Sergeant Michael Yedinak , who has nearly a quarter of a century of service to the cadets of the AFJROTC program is now deemed no longer qualified because he does not have an associate degree. For him to pursue a degree to remain qualified would be a tremendous heavy burden. Sergeant Yedinak has instructed 24 years at Lowell High School and was set to retire in 2015. He will be forced to resign and due to a "pre-existing" condition (his first wife had cancer) is unable to collect on retirement benefits.
I strongly urge you to pursue any opportunity to secure a change to this requirement, either through amendment, waiver or “Grandfather Clause”.
