Phase out the $1 bill and produce $2 or $5 coins

Created by J.F. on March 25, 2014

The government's GAO has repeatedly conducted studies and determined cost savings in minting dollar coins over having to frequently replace worn and damaged dollar bills.

Stop printing the $1 bill and mint $1 and $2 or $5 coins that are easily differentiated from other denominations (particularly the quarter) by both sight and feel. Focus on long term fiscal savings while delivering a better product for those with vision impairments.
