Phase out Political Parties in the United States

This petition proposes a government system in which there are no party lines. In a country that is so split politically, and a majority of which feels is corrupt, this petition wishes to put in play a system in which politicians are no longer pressured by their political party, only by those responsible for getting them elected. This petition argues that many of the reasons we cannot get legislation through is the idea that both parties do not want to make the other look stronger or themselves weaker by signing into law an idea that is either right or left. If all Representatives simply represented those they are responsible for then they would get reelected and would not have to worry about party fallout. This would also get rid of the gang-mentality of either being red or blue.
