The U.S. Postal Service has served an important role in communication, education and trade for over 200 years, but technology has made it clear that it is now time to change our strategy. Although the role of regulation and control over first class mail is enumerated to the Federal government in the Constitution, the power does not preclude the licensing of these services to private enterprise. If we were to free up the resources currently being wasted, we could better use them to connect the far reaching areas that the Service was created to connect using broadband . Federally owned land could be sold or leased and the postal regulations could remain in full force. Broadband is the way people communicate, the post is holding us back.
