Phase in a scaled tariff on imports to address our trade and government deficits and stimulate domestic manufacturing.

Created by M.V. on January 19, 2013

Much of our current economic crises can be attributed to unchecked globaliization.
A scaled tariff based on the trade deficit with each country would protect our standard of living.
We need to protect our labor & manufacturers from unfair competion with third world countries.
Phasing in a tariff over a period of years (a decade ?) would provide an incentive to invest in domestic manufacturing without runaway inflation or global economic disaster.
While globalization is a worthy goal to raise the world's standard of living it should not cause our's to freefall lower.
If the Chinese government profits from taxing exports, why can't our government reduce it's debt with an import tax ?
