Recently CVS Pharmacys demanded the weight of their employees. This weight could be used in the future to set an insurance surcharge on people who do not meet company criteria, perhaps even dismissal,
This petition suggests that insurance is to spread the risk among all working population. Ordinary activities such as weight, smoking, hiking, biking, mountain climbing, should NOT be an employers business. Such activities should ONLY be weighted by actuaries and employers should be prohibited from obtaining biological samples, weight information or any other medical information with two exceptions
A. Medical information direclty related to job activity
such as fitness for law officers or firemen
B. Drug testing for illegal drugs for employment
