By adopting this petition it is my opinion that this will have many long term benefits for the health and prosperity of our country but the question is how is it paid for. By allowing those who are eligible to retire at 55 on a voluntary basis this will help open up entry level jobs for younger employees in exchange for these jobs those youger than 55 would have to pay more towards their social security. Those who are 55 and older and wish to continue working would be allowed to continue working but would have to pay more towards social security. If more people wee allowed to retire at a younger age this would in my opinion create a greater demand for services and help to lower the unemployment rate while at the same time strengthen social security for future generations.
