WHEREAS a clean and flourishing environment is imperative to the health of all life;
RECOGNIZING the natural, scenic, historic, and aesthetic qualities of our environment;
RECOGNIZING that over 60 nations constitutionally guarantee their people a right to a quality environment;
AWARE that the Executive Branch alone cannot amend the Constitution; and
ASSERTING that the right to a quality environment is an inalienable and fundamental right;
Petitioners hereby request the Obama Administration to pioneer and endorse a 28th amendment to the Constitution guaranteeing the people the right to:
1. clean air, pure water, and freedom from excessive and unnecessary noise
2. have their environment protected for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations of humans and non-humans.
