Place a ban on all blunt objects (clubs, hammers, baseball bats, ect.) in order to protect Americans from being murdered

I urge the Obama administration to immediately place a ban on all blunt objects in the United States of America, and to create a regulatory committee to issue Americans BOOPs (Blunt Object Owner's Permits) after extensive criminal and mental health checks. According to the FBI's Expanded Homicide Data Table 8, from 2006-2010 3031 people were murdered in the United States by people wielding blunt objects. That is 1051 more than people murdered by rifles over the same period. Something has to be done immediately. We need to regulate the purchase of frying pans, rolling pins, baseball bats, clubs, hammers, large wrenches ect. in order keep them out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill.
