place Blair Mountain in West Virginia on the register of Historic Landmarks thus preventing its destruction by mining.

Created by J.S. on November 19, 2012

Blair Mountain in West Virginia is the site of a historic battle to establish the United Mine Workers and is in danger of being destroyed by Mountain Top Removal Mining. Part of the permit will destroy parts of the mountain where the battle took place. This mountain was on the register of historic landmarks but was removed and need to be returned to that register to save it. Please strongly consider the historical and health impacts involved in the destruction of this mountain and help prevent this from happening.
