Melanoma is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25-29 years old and the second most common form of cancer for adolescents and young adults 15-29 years old. It is increasing faster in females 15-29 years and one American dies of melanoma almost every hour. Statistics tell us that the use of a tanning bed before the age of 30 makes you 75% more likely to develop melanoma and that 10 tanning sessions over a lifetime increases the risk of melanoma by 50%. The World Health Organization have rated tanning beds as a Type-1 carcinogen, alongside tobacco, asbestos and arsenic. Please, we are begging that you make young people aware of the dangers of tanning before it's too late.
