Place cannabis on the DEA's Schedule II to allow private, independent, unbiased medical testing.

Created by W.R. on October 29, 2011

Completely legalizing cannabis has innumerable benefits on personal, societal, and economic levels; unfortunately the push for complete legalization is hampered by moral opposition from a portion (not a majority, see Gallup's statistics released in October 2011) of the public, as well as logistical hurdles associated with federal regulation of ANYTHING. This said, it sickens me to know that in this great nation there are people suffering from serious illnesses who are criminalized and demonized because cannabis, though undoubtedly the most effective way to treat their illnesses or alleviate their symptoms, is illegal under federal (and most state) law. Rescheduling cannabis would allow for thorough scientific research to be conducted as to its exact positive and negative medicinal effects.
