We urge the Obama Administration to place the District's "Taxation Without Representation" licence plates on the Presidential limousine. President Clinton used the District's license plates to show solidarity with the District's quest for representation in Congress. The license plates were removed by President Bush, and not replaced by President Obama.
While action matters most, symbols matter as well. President Obama has repeatedly stated that he supports representation for the District. Placing the District's licence plates on the Presidential limousine would take this message everywhere that the President travels. Please, President Obama, show us that you stand on the side of representation and democracy for all.
