Place a federal ban on the deadly practice of hogtying as a restraint method by law enforcement.

Created by D.P. on November 23, 2015

According to numerous medical studies, hogtying can interfere with breathing and increase the risk of sudden death, particularly when individuals are placed on their stomachs. Hundreds of deaths have been attributed to this barbaric practice, leading cities like New York City (1987), Los Angeles (1997) San Antonio (1998) & more to ban it from their law enforcement.

Hogtying has cost local governments upwards of tens of millions in settlements to victims' families due to its torturous nature. But the ultimate price of hogtying is the life of its victim and grief of their families. Most recently, Troy Goode died as a result of cardiac arrhythmia, caused by being hogtied, face down for more than an hour at the hands of the Southaven, MS PD.
