Place international pressure on Russia to abolish the ban of “propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations"

Created by B.P. on February 05, 2014

The Putin Administration has put forth efforts to limit free speech and freedom of press in it's country, as well has attacking minorities in such a way that violates human rights to the utmost degree. A recent ruling by Russian court convicted an editor of a newspaper for publishing a quote from an LGBT activist (who has been fired from his job).

Freedom House Article quote:
“This conviction of a newspaper editor for doing his job by quoting a local activist is a new low point for the Russian justice system,” said David J. Kramer, president of Freedom House. “When it’s illegal to discuss the universal equality of people, the rights and equality of all people are threatened. Russia must overturn this law and end its prosecution of of LGBTI people and advocates.”
