With food products being imported from all over the world, knowing where the food comes from and if grown under safe and regulated conditions is important. The public has the right to know if any chemicals such as pesticides or additives were used to enhance the growth of the food. We petition to ask the Obama Administration to place labels on food indicating the origin and if any enhancements were used to grow it. This information is key to understand where the food is coming from such a specific country, farm, or laboratory and also important to know if chemicals were used as these factors may pose a health concern to the public. In order to see the placements of these food labels, we suggest the FDA to oversee this labeling by 2020.
