I believe there should be a moratorium on debts for Homeless/others who are denied housing because of bad consumer/other debt. Even so-called low-income and Hud subsidized managements are very strict about credit ratings even though paying one's rent has nothing to do with bad/good credit ratings. I am being kept essentially homeless (without permanent housing of my own) because of this practice and so are many other Homeless/poor/working poor individuals.
I have excellent rental history-no evictions, and stable though low income-$694/mo Disability payments, but have been rejected from Hud subsidized housing because of poor credit history. Homelessness seems to be the "new debtor's prison" as I've heard it put in articles.
