Every flight has a air marshal in plain clothes with a concealed weapon. The same heightened security should be present at all public schools. Many schools have an armed uniformed officer, but this just paints a giant target on their back as the first person to be shot. A plain clothes agent, whether it be a teacher, office worker, tutor or security guard would be much more effective at preventing these types of situations from escalating. We do not want our schools to feel like a jail, with increased security that just takes away from many schools purpose as a community center, and this is the most effective way to protect schools without disrupting the students daily life of the community.
