Place protective tariffs on all chemicals imported into the United States for the purpose of capital punishment

Created by J.S. on July 03, 2015

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on the case of Glossip v. Gross, effectively giving the green light to states to use inmates as guinea pigs to experiment with new, untested chemicals for lethal injection.

Now, most developed countries and pharmaceutical companies refuse to sell much-needed chemicals to U.S. prisons, but states that still use capital punishment are determined to find alternative substances.

I ask that the U.S. government place a heavy, restrictive import tariff on such substances in order to deter states from continuing this abhorrent practice.
