place a referendum to allow the people of the US to vote on repealing the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act.

Created by B.M. on February 01, 2013

Forcing people (many of whom can not afford it) to purchase health insurance will not reduce costs. It only feeds the greed of the insurance conglomerate. Such an act only ensures that the insurance industry has free rein to take advantage of not only the people, but any government agency which subsidizes the costs to low income Americans.
The insurance industry should have to provide good value at an affordable price in order to earn business, just like any other industry.
Congress votes for us by proxy, but We the People have the right to overrule Congress and vote ourselves on issues. This issue has the potential to cause financial harm to lower income individuals and families too "rich" to receive free benefits but too poor to afford even the cheapest insurance.
