The constant interruption of scheduled programming can easily ruin any anticipated viewing enjoyment. Using psychological time (think wind chill factor versus actual temperature), 50% to 75% of programming is composed of commercials; the length of a commercial break is often longer than that of a segment of programming between breaks.
