Energy is a strategic resource; therefore we should place a significant export tariff on all exported fossil fuels.
The US is currently experiencing an energy boom by exploiting low-grade energy resources. We should use these resources only for the direct benefit of the American People, not for the profits of energy companies. We must discourage the export of our remaining. The best way to do this is through an export tariff.
The big push to extend “fracking” is not to get energy for the American People, it is to provide energy companies with product for export. We must not allow the energy industry to suck America dry again.
American energy for Americans!
All proceeds from this tariff should be designated for the development of alternate energy technologies.
