play President Whitmore's famous speech from the movie "Independence Day" at military and other appropriate occasions.

Created by N.J. on May 05, 2014

We petition the Obama administration to play President Whitmore's famous speech from the movie "Independence Day" at military and other appropriate occasions.

There is precedent for a President issuing such an executive order. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued an executive order that the "The Star-Spangled Banner" be played at military and other appropriate occasions.

In 1931, Congress passed an act confirming Wilson's presidential order and President Herbert Hoover signed it into law.
