Please allow serious discussion of the partitioning of the State of Texas into 5 separate states which is allowed under the joint resolution of Congress.
After the split up, there would effectively be a solid Democrat state that spans from Brownsville to El Paso, a solid Republican state which would be North Texas west of Dallas and northwest of Austin.
There would also be 3 swing states created. 1) The state that would span the gulf containing Houston. 2) Encompassing area of Austin. 3) Encompassing area of Dallas & Fort Worth.
