Ambassador Susan E. Rice is the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations and a member of President Obama's Cabinet. Ambassador Rice is a scholar who had also served as a senior advisor for national security affairs on the Obama presidential campaign, as Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, as Special Assistant to President Clinton and Senior Director for African Affairs. Ambassador Rice’s skill as a charming but firm negotiator and her unflagging determination have aided her at United Nations. However, Republicans are already busy trying to torpedo a nomination of the good Ambassador before it is made.
