Imagine a world where NASA never happened and the Soviets gained all the technical and social advantages of the space program. I am unconvinced they would be gone today if they had. They might have even surpassed us.
My late dad quit West Point so he could go to college and help build rockets. That one act shows me the power of the space exploration and the effect it can have on the minds and emotions of a culture while increasing scientific knowledge.
