Please change the farm bill system so that small, family farms are more economically feasible.

Large, commercial growing operations have systematically been dismantling the small family-owned farm for the past few generations, which has been spurred by the US farm bills of past. The monoculture system is also destroying our valuable soil and leaving the US very vulnerable to plagues that could destroy the food supply. We need to focus on returning farming to a valued industry that supports individual operations and focuses on sustainability. We need to encourage growth of diversity in crops to balance the soil, create more competitive pricing for varied produce and get nutrition back into the average American diet.
