Reconsider the choice to name the USS Gabrielle Giffords (LCS-10) after a politician and instead honor a combat wounded Navy veteran of OIF with such a fitting tribute. Holly Crabtree is a medically retired Chief Hospital Corpsman who served our nation for over forteen years before her wounds forced her to retire. She was an Independent Duty Corpsman serving with elements of Naval Special Warfare in Iraq when she was shot in the head the day before her thirtieth birthday in Ramadi Iraq. LCS-10 is an Independence-class littoral combat ship and would be a proper and appropriate expression both of our nations gratitude to HMC Crabtree; as well as her indomitable spirit of service and patriotic sacrafices. There really is little comparison between the two women and their contributions.
