As children diagnosed with Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) there are programs and help available. The problem is when they become adults and get out of school there are no real support programs that really address their needs. Programs like these could very well have prevented the tragedy in Newtown, CT recently. It has been said that the killer was believed to have Asperger's Syndrome, which is an ASD. If this young man had a support system in place as a young adult maybe we would not have done the horrible thing he done. The fact is that there are not enough options for support for people with these and similar disorders. That must be changed. These people need our help!!!
