There are hundreds of petitions presented on this website. Some are jokes, some bring important issues to attention, and some are absurd. But at least they are petitions. A casual observation of "petitions" reveals dozens that aren't actually asking, or "petitioning," for anything, instead being so poorly worded that they are unintelligible, sentence fragments, phrases without context, threats, rants or any number of other things. While the First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech (and thus the right for these statements to exist uncensored) they simply aren't petitions. I petition the White House to either moderate and delete petitions that aren't actually petitions or create a separate page for them, or possibly incorporate them into a "Dos and Don'ts" page for the submissions.
