Please Delist the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party)

Created by J.C. on October 13, 2014

The PKK is a Kurdish group that fought the Turkish state after years of repression, however they are not a terror group, and are not an enemy of America. They are our most potent ally against ISIL, and have suffered many casualties, many by female fighters. (30% of the fighting force are women.)

The PKK advocate equality for women and many of our democratic values, however in 1997 the PKK were officially listed as a terror group, due largely to pressure from Turkey. We desperately want the Kurds to prevail in their fight against ISIL; removing the PKK from the State Dept.'s official list of terrorist groups will be a significant step in that direction .

Mr. President, we respectfully petition you to immediately delist the PKK from the State Dept.'s list of Foreign Terror Organizations.
